Oxfordshire cottage hot-mixed lime repointing

The cottage was another victim of cement repointing and has been suffering with damp issues internally. We will be repointing almost the entire building as well as the inglenook fireplace. The mix chosen for this project was very course with plenty of horse hair to account for the very deep and wide joints left behind after removing all of the cement.

In the right-hand image above the remnants of the old lime wash can still be found on numerous stones across the building.
